Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about capturing social proof.

Key stats: 98% SMS open rate, 45% response rate, 90 sec avg reply

Getting Started

What is social proof and why is it important for business?
Social proof refers to real customer reactions and behaviors that demonstrate trust and satisfaction. It is important because 90%+ of buyers depend on other people's experiences before making a purchase.
What do I need to get started?
A phone number to send/receive messages, and a way to trigger the capture flow (NFC card, QR code, or manual trigger). Setup takes about 5 minutes.
Do my customers need to download an app?
No. Capture works entirely through native phone features - SMS, MMS, and phone calls. Customers do not need apps, portals, or new accounts.
How does the NFC tap work?
When a customer taps an NFC card, their phone opens a pre-filled text message. They hit send, and the capture flow begins automatically.

Why It Works

Do NFC taps actually improve engagement rates?
Yes. Studies show that well-placed NFC triggers achieve 15-25% engagement rates and can lift conversions by up to 30% compared with passive interactions.
How effective is SMS as a follow-up channel?
SMS is the highest-engagement channel available. Around 98% of text messages are opened (vs 20-37% for email), and response rates average 45% (vs 6% for email).
Why not just use email for testimonial requests?
Email has a 6% response rate and 20% open rate. SMS has a 45% response rate and 98% open rate. You'll collect 7-8x more testimonials with SMS than email.

Capture Types

What types of social proof can Capture collect?
Capture collects: voice testimonials (call recordings), video testimonials (MMS / media uploads), text feedback (SMS replies), and structured responses (guided flows).

Pricing & Billing

How is pricing structured?
Capture pricing is usage-driven: you pay for SMS/MMS messages, voice minutes, media storage, and additional phone numbers. Flow creation does not add fees.
What's an SMS segment?
A standard SMS is 160 characters. Longer messages are split into segments. A 200-character message = 2 segments.

Data & Compliance

Do I own and control all captured media and feedback?
Yes. All captured media and text are owned by your account and can be exported at any time.
How is data stored and secured?
All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Media is stored securely and only accessible to your account.
How does Capture handle compliance and opt-outs?
Capture automatically respects SMS compliance rules. If a customer replies "STOP", Capture halts outbound messages immediately.
